Sidney by the Sea

Sidney is located about 20 kilometers north of Victoria. Many seniors call Sidney home and enjoy the relatively flat topography. Sidney enjoys a temperate climate, many natural amenities and a lively downtown core with a village atmosphere.

Sidney has extensive waterfront walkways, parks, restaurants and marinas. Sidney also has one of the last independent Cinemas as well as Mary Winspear Community Centre, which includes the 315 seat Charlie White Theatre. It also hosts many antique shows and craft fairs. Sidney’s popular Thursday evening street market runs through the summer and offers visitors an eclectic array of products from jewelry to organic vegetables.

With its sister municipalities of North Saanich and Central Saanich, Sidney contributes to the finding of nearby Panorama Leisure Center.

There is a ferry link to Anacortes, Washington, USA which leaves daily. Sidney is within close proximity to the Victoria International Airport, and a few kilometers to the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal which sails to the mainland and Gulf Islands.
