City of Colwood
The City of Colwood is a newer municipality incorporated in 1985. It is divided into several residential pockets such as Triangle Mountain, Colwood Creek, Colwood Lake Estates, Wishart and the Lagoon area. There is a growing business center at Colwood Corners and Hatley Park.
Colwood is a developing municipality with phased commercial residential developments at Colwood Corners and the gravel pit that will provide housing opportunities for years to come.
The Jaun de Fuca Recreation Centre is used by several West Shore Municipalities.
There are several options for the golf enthusiast such as Royal Colwood and Olympic View golf courses and the nine hole Juan De Fuca course. The area offers a nature reserve many beaches for sun tanning, swimming, and wind- surfing, sailing or just walking. Colwood offers stunning views of downtown Victoria and the Olympic Mountains in the US over the Strait of Juan de Fuca from several of its locations. Colwood is home to Royal Roads University a former military college and a former Dunsmuir Family Estate.
