Saanich East & West

Saanich is the largest core municipality with 18 distinct neighborhoods or areas. It is also divided between east and west. It is the most populous municipality on Vancouver Island with a population of over 109,000.

 

The landscape of Saanich is unique for its ecological diversity and leisure potential and its miles of marine shorelines and lakes. There are municipal parks, three regional parks and a cycling a route to take advantage of. There are several excellent golf courses, Blenkinsop Valley, Cordova Bay and Prospect Lake golf courses.

 

Some of the distinct neighborhoods include:

 

Gordon Head is a solidly upper middle class family area with several shopping malls and restaurants.

 

High Quadra overlooks the Blenkinsop Valley. Broadmead offers West Coast architecture and city views.

 

Cordova Bay is perched along the seaside and includes a mixture of cottages, small farms, sizable family homes and new subdivisions.

 

Saanich West is mostly rural by nature and contains most of the Municipalities Lakes which include Elk, Prospect and Beaver Lake.
